Commission Artist Awareness: Conartists Dishonesty and Deceptive Transaction and Stolen Artwork or Plagiarism
Hello fellow artists and art enthusiasts,
I'm reaching out to the community today to address a growing concern that affects all of us who value honesty and integrity in the digital art world. It has come to my attention that there has been a significant increase in scammers using AI-generated text to pose as legitimate artists or to facilitate deceptive transactions.
These dishonest individuals are not only stealing artwork but are also conning clients out of their hard-earned money by overcharging for services or selling AI-generated works without proper disclosure. This is unacceptable and detrimental to the genuine artists who invest time and effort into their craft.
I urge everyone in this community to be vigilant. If you are buying art or commissioning pieces, please ensure that you are dealing with reputable sources. Ask for verifications, process sketches, or any proof of genuine creation before making payments.
As for my fellow artists, continue to be transparent about your use of AI and other tools. Our honesty is what will keep the art community strong and respected.
Regarding commission work, while I understand rates vary widely, personally, I am looking to commission artwork within the $20-$30 range, respecting the fair value of genuine artists’ efforts without tolerating scams or unfair pricing.
Let's protect our community and ensure it remains a space for true artistic expression. Share this message, raise awareness, and stand against dishonest practices in our field.
Thank you for your attention and for promoting integrity in art.
